Job Title Status District Sales Manager Exempt Purpose of Job: The District Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for sales, design and marketing in their assigned district. The DSM will report to the National Sales Manager. District Sales Associates will report to the DSM. Duties and Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities and details include but not limited to the following: The successful candidate will need to live in the North Central District (MI, IN, OH, KY)
  • Provide training and guidance to DSAs in all areas of the business. Training will be required on ventilation designs, pricing, conducting site visits, communication, and team work.
  • The DSM will be ultimately responsible for growing business in their district. They will lead the entire district team in order to be successful. North Central District - MI, IN, OH, KY
  • Major project tracking: Follow specific projects to close orders through contacting all members of the sales chain by; visit, telephone, email and direct sales calls. Utilize Moffitt provided contact and job tracking programs.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Identify target markets in each district, and develop plans to increase leads. Work with the marketing team to develop materials and systems specific to the district to cultivate new business and maintain existing business. Work with Business Development to get in front of target audience.
  • Solution quoting and follow up: Develop opportunities in NetSuite and work with assigned district team to update or create quotations as required to support workload. Follow up on proposals within territory as necessary. Become thoroughly knowledgeable on quoting and proposal procedures.
  • End User: Make plant calls to develop system design concept to resolve existing ventilation problems. Relay design concept to office team for Design\Proposal completion. Prepare support documentation as required to support workload. Become thoroughly knowledgeable on ventilation system design.
  • Moffitt Certified Installer (MCI): Work with our MCI partners to visit facilities together. Work with our installation team to develop formal RFQs for the MCI scope of work. Frequent communication with MCI is required during quoting and installation work. DSM's job is to build a strong relationship of trust with MCI to partner together for years to come.
  • General contractor/metal building dealer & building supplier: Contact and build relationships with contractors and dealers within territory. Contact and build relationship with metal building manufacturers and their regional/territorial managers within territory. These contacts will be utilized for product sales and contacts for upcoming and current construction projects.
  • Engineering firms: Marketing will be done to engineers to design our products into new systems, gain acceptance and specifications and training on use of Moffitt web-based tools. Responsible for meeting with and setting up various presentations (lunch & learn) to key engineering individuals on design applications.
  • Provide on-site assistance with problem solving services for any problem product or problem ventilation system in district. Urgency and being in-person is key to customer satisfaction when issues arise.
  • Industrial ventilation contracting: Make sales calls on EPC's and building contractors to build relationships for industrial ventilation work. Become knowledgeable on scope of work and means and methods used to design, estimate, and perform work.
Skill/Job Requirements:
  • A proven track record in sales
  • 5 years work experience in HVAC industry or industrial sales with knowledge of standard HVAC terminology
  • Ability to learn how to develop design concept for ventilation systems
  • Ability to understand and explain HVAC contracting proposals including scope and method and means of design, estimating, and installation.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, presentation, business development, time management, and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and sales presence.
  • Must provide professional presentation of company outside office setting.
  • Ability to intently listen and understand client requests and requirements, develop action plan, and relay plan to team members.
  • Frequent travel required within territory, however occasional travel beyond territory will also be required. Expected minimum travel to be 8-12 business days out of a 20 business day month
Salary is $75,000 per year with a commissions based on the sale of Moffitt products and services within your designated district.
