Because nobody is equal until everyone is equal.Job DescriptionSoulCycle is hiring a Senior Buyer to support the SoulCycle business in regards to the development, merchandising, buying and inventory management of multiple product categories, helping to achieve both margin and sales goals within the department.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in a buying office, be bright, energetic, detail-oriented, responsible and will perform their duties with dedication and commitment.  The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative of those a buyer must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Execute and initiate seasonal strategies as determined by leadership teamResponsible for Merchandising line plan developmentWork closely with the team while building the product assortment, provide prepared ideas and point of view on editing processGain a strong understanding of the SoulCycle customer: review new deliveries and sales, and communicate “learnings” back to the teamCompetitive knowledge: understand and translate trends and nuances in lifestyle/fitness trendsIdentify and research new suppliers/ factories/ markets to ensure new product needs are consistently met.  Constant monitoring and evaluation of vendor performanceMust have strong experience in garment costing; ability to negotiate these costs and comparing costs from style-style and vendor-vendorMust have a strong understanding of the product develop life cycle -trims, lab dips s/o and hand feel approvalsExpertise in time and action calendars as it pertains to production and warehouse deliveriesMaintain buy plans to ensure accuracy, act as the point person for internal and cross functional teamsRespond to Marketing and PR requests and inquiriesReview historical performance at the category and key item levelPartner with Planning on the determination of receipt plans, margin and IMU goals, and flow strategies to drive assortment executionReview with Planning the analysis of business by style, delivery and category to understand prior performance and develop future goalsManage purchase order process. Maintain accurate receipts, selling and on order spreadsheetsReport on sales trend of business (best and slow sellers, style analysis, etc) to share with Retail Team and Executive Leadership teamWork with Marketing Team to develop email and social strategy for retailWork with Directors of Retail to identify revenue driving opportunities from an assortment, studio allocation or private label perspectiveIdentify potential new streams for growth i.e. wholesale, pop upsQualificationsUndergraduate degree (business or fashion related discipline a plus)Must have an excellent understanding of retail math, participate in open to buy forecasting process8+ years of retail buying experience in apparel/vertical retail driven environmentExisting relationships in vendor community strongly preferred.Must possess proficient Excel, Powerpoint, Mac skillsMust be comfortable handling ambiguity and working in a fast paced, dynamic office environment.  Must be adaptable to the needs of a changing and growing businessMust have strong communication and negotiation skillsAbility to build / maintain strong Vendor partnerships is mandatoryMust be extremely detail orientedMust have an inherent drive for resultsMust be customer focused and a strong team playerA personal passion for fitness and/or the SoulCycle brand is strongly preferredPay Transparency: Min $100K- Max $120KAdditional InformationFor additional Information visit our Career Site: SummaryType: Full-timeFunction: OtherExperience level: AssociateIndustry: Health, Wellness And Fitness
