Duties As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0080-9, the position serves as the Security Police NCOIC for the ANG Security Police Squadron tenant on an active duty, AFRES or other DOD component
Aggressively facilitates, and leads security police programs at an Air National Guard Base, to include installation security, air base ground defense, conventional weapon systems security, law enforcement, training, resource protection, information security, personnel security, industrial security, wartime information security, and security classification management
This position also supervises one State employee

Plans, organizes, and directs security police activities
Plans, organizes and directs activities and programs to support base activities such as; security, resource protection, law enforcement, and information security programs
Coordinates and develops contingency plans for confrontation management, base defense, information and personnel security and resource protection plans
Coordinates the deployment of personnel and individual and unit equipment
Develops and implements policies to ensure program effectiveness and efficient use of personnel and equipment
Coordinates detailed procedures and instructions for such functions as prevention of unauthorized entry of restricted areas and mission essential resources, use of personnel and equipment
Administers security police training programs
Plans for the employment of electronic physical security equipment to ensure the most efficient and economical devices are implemented to achieve required levels of security consistent with existing threat levels

Initiates programming and budgeting actions for initial acquisition, modification, and replacement of security police facilities, vehicles, equipment, and other resources

Directs security police activities
Assigns and directs security police personnel in emergency operations, including security, law enforcement, and air base defense; crash and disaster control activities; and civil or internal disorders
Analyzes security police facilities, sensor and alarm systems, vehicles, weapons, and other equipment to ensure operational effectiveness
Directs the conduct of training programs to meet local and mobility mission requirements
Ensures professional standards of performance within security police activities through management, supervisory, and inspection programs

Coordinates security police activities
Advises and coordinates with Active Duty, AFRES, DOD counterparts and ANG unit commanders on security, air base defense, law enforcement, and information security matters
Coordinates the activities of other units which have responsibilities during emergency security or local ground defense operations
Coordinates with other military services and civil agencies on security, air base defense, and law enforcement; mutual support agreements; and host-tenant agreements

Performs technical security police functions
Analyzes security and law enforcement reports and statistics
Evaluates the employment of security police weapons to ensure maximum effectiveness
Evaluates the employment and employment of electronic sensor systems to ensure maximum effectiveness in their installation and use
Conducts staff meetings

Monitors and directs security police programs
Monitors Air Force and ANG training standards
Analyzes newly developed equipment and weaponry
Initiates programming and budgeting actions for acquisition, modification, and replacement of security police facilities, vehicles, and equipment
Monitors security police programs through inspections, reporting systems, and observation
Evaluates programs by recording, charting, and analyzing the status of discipline, reports of crimes, security violations, and traffic incidents involving ANG members

Determines adequacy of facilities, equipment, and procedures used to account for, store, transmit, and destroy classified material
Monitors and evaluates reporting dealing with compromise of classified information and personnel security program documents which includes the special security files

Requirements Conditions of Employment

GENERAL and SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: This Series covers various National Guard dual status technician positions in the Security Administration career field
This career field performs force protection duties to ensure combat capability through the functions of installation defense security, nuclear and conventional weapon systems, anti-terrorism identifications, trends, and analysis, resources security, intelligence gathering, military police functions, law enforcement protection, information protection security, and combat arms training and maintenance
Security Administration employees participate in contingency operations
Personnel in this career field are deployed and employed in sensitive or hostile environments created by terrorism, sabotage, nuclear, chemical, biological, or conventional warfare
The qualification requirements include practical understanding, specialized skills, and fundamental knowledge of the following Series GS-0080 programs: Security police; information security; sensitive compartmental information; special security requirements; force protection; anti-terrorism; information protection; Security police training, unit deployment, and physical security
Positions in this Series involve security policies, guiding principles, training requirements, and certifications
Positions in this occupation require expanded security clearances, an extensive knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing a distinct set of operational duties and responsibilities for performing security functions and handling weapons
GS-09 (Level Two) To qualify for the GS-09 Intermediate career level in the Security Administration Series GS-0080, the applicant must have least 12 months experience in the security career field, to include technical training schools and drill-status working experience
Security Forces and Intelligence training experiences are not required for individuals performing Chief of information Protection duties/responsibilities; Security Officer duties/responsibilities; or, Special Security Representative duties/responsibilities
