* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs functions such as monitoring vital signs, dressing wounds, administering basic procedures, and other basic care options.

* Performs IV therapy.
* Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care.
* Answers call lights, phones, changes bed linen, directs visitors, runs errands, and performs other functions as directed by the nursing staff.
* Observes the patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reports any changes to the nursing staff.
* Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through techniques that support and achieve positive outcomes.
* Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
* Serves a population newborn through geriatric.

* MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Knowledge of LPN functions in a hospital environment.
* Basic computer skills.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
* Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Previous exposure to a medical center environment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Graduate of an approved LPN program.
* Successful completion of an Intravenous Fluid Therapy course and passage of the IV Therapy exam.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Previous experience in a medical center/hospital.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

* Current licensure as an LPN in the State of Kansas.
* Healthcare Provider BLS through the AHA or ARC within 30 days of hire.
