Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay:  $12.58 - $15.00/$17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)

Average Part Time Hours - 24 hours per week

These temporary positions will be assigned to DHHS DSOJF Walter B Jones ADATC.  The HCT provides direct patient care by managing the milieu on the unit through close observation and interaction with the patients.  The HCT provides support to the patients working toward the goals and objectives of their treatment.  The HCT achieves a therapeutic milieu on the unit by fostering a therapeutic environment, assisting in activities of daily living, monitoring medical, emotional, behavioral or social problems and providing the information to the Registered Nurse.  It is the responsibility of the HCT to transport patients to appointments outside the medical facility.  This position also assists the Registered Nurse with initial intakes/interviews with patients.

Work Schedule:

1st Shift:   6:45 am - 7:15 pm

2nd Shift:  6:45 pm - 7:15 am

Positions may rotate between all three shifts to ensure adequate staffing to deliver quality patient care. Being part of WBJ Center Nursing Department includes the following guidelines related to the minimum staffing that must be maintained on each of the shifts. This involves being assigned a Red Dot designation.

* Knowledge of psychiatric disorders
* Knowledge to be able to deescalate or use alternative techniques (example CPI, restraints, and seclusion)
* Knowledge of addiction, recovery/12 step programs, community resources, psychopathology, and interviewing are enhanced through on the job training and educational opportunities
* Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate/establish rapport in non-judgmental manner are necessary
* Some knowledge is required of diseases and how they are spread, nutrition, sanitation, personal hygiene, as they relate to the area of assignment
* This position must have the ability to gain the confidence of patients, to work effectively with them, and to prepare and maintain reports of activities and patient progress
* Basic computer skills are required to access software programs -- PIC, Email, and BEACON.
* HCT must be able to demonstrate competency in policies related to computer usage at work related to security of data processed.
* Job requires annual training for IT security awareness.

High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required: listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
