The Strategic Sourcing Solution is a discipline-based model that uses collaboration to deliver savings and end-user satisfaction. Instead of contracting for resources and supplies end-users may or may not want to use, communities within The Resource Group's Strategic Sourcing Solution take a different approach and focus on contracting for the supplies and services that meet the criteria determined by caregivers.As a Director, Contract Design, you will lead a team of associates to facilitate and direct the identification and development of national contracting strategies. The Contract Design Director advances the overall strategy of contracts within their specific discipline(s). As the lead of their team, the Director leads the most strategic initiatives and provides guidance and training on approaches to manage the contracts and transactions within the respective contract portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Contracting, the role conducts market research and facilitates end-user groups, to define products and services and contract attributes that are clinically and professionally acceptable. The Contract Design Director acts as an escalation point on the team for contract and supplier issues. The Director collaborates closely with their counterparts on The Resource Group’s Contract Design, Sourcing, and Implementation communities, Legal, and other areas of the organization to support the delivery of cost-effective supplies, equipment, and services that are clinically acceptable. The role works with the eSourcing team to explore new strategies to drive additional value in contracting.ResponsibilitiesWorks collaboratively with the Sourcing Director counterpart to form category negotiation strategies and reports regularly to senior leadership on key contracting metrics and strategic milestonesOversees the engagement of end-users, The Resource Group leaders, and other key stakeholders in aligning contract opportunities with the mission and strategies of healthcare ParticipantsResponsible for life cycle and contract portfolio management of their respective teamsManages all team members and resources through assignment of work, evaluations, mentorship and coaching as applicableLeads the collection and coordination of market research and expert guidance to assist end-user groups in solution development, contract strategies, and cost-saving opportunities always with the implementation in mindDiscover and discuss contracting implications, challenges, and other potential details with Sourcing Director counterparts prior to negotiations; considering implications across suppliers and the full The Resource Group portfolioFacilitates communication of clinically or operationally relevant information such as related product recalls/alerts, clinical benefits and educational opportunities, contract announcements and other communication strategiesRepresents The Resource Group in interactions with the supplier communityReports to senior leadership on key contracting management and key category financial goalsRequirementsEducation:High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.Master's degree preferred.Work Experience:5 years of experience required.10 years of experience preferred.2 years of leadership or management experience required.5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.Additional Preferences-Masters degree strongly preferred -Greater than 10 years of relevant professional experience working on contract management and collaborative engagement with key stakeholders to develop contracting strategiesThe Resource Group’s value is delivered through its people, and it is our people and culture that enables us to achieve success.
