Become a valued member of our Team Position Purpose:# To provide direct patient care in collaboration with the physicians while integrating education, research, management, leadership, and consultation into the clinical role. Essential Functions: 1. Provides direct patient care, including ordering and evaluating of diagnostic tests and managing of procedures according to established clinical practice guidelines and in accordance with the privileges granted. 2. Identifies deviations from normal and consults, co-manages and refers patients as appropriate according to established clinical practice guidelines and in accordance with the privileges granted. 3. Serves as a resource for staff nurses and physicians to facilitate the coordination of care and the movement of patients through the continuum. 4. Provides individualized patient/family teaching, health counseling and health advocacy services to patients, their families and significant others. 5. Completes all required documentation in a timely manner. Marginal Functions: # Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital#s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others. # Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards. # Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate. # Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required. # Participates in research, statistics, continuing education and quality assurance activities. # Participates in instruction of medical students, advanced practice nursing students, nursing students and other adult learners as assigned. Job Requirements: APN- current and unrestricted license for the State of Illinois CNP, CPR, ACLS, NRP current and valid certifications Clinical abilities as demonstrated through training, education, certification and experience. Position Purpose:
