Job Description IRCM RESEARCH SYSTEMS ENGINEER
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Develop and execute simulations of imaging sensor systems including characterization of the performance of the optical sensor and associated digital signal processing algorithms
Position responsibilities to include:
• Designing and developing threat detection and discrimination algorithms capable of being implemented in real-time hardware
• Perform analysis/design of optics and sensors including detailed account of atmospheric transmission effects
• Analyzing the data generated by the real-time system and/or digital models
• Collecting field data using the system under development.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS/MS/Ph.D
in Electrical Engineering, Physicist or equivalent with demonstrated specialization in optics and a strong background in computer programming and systems simulation
Knowledge in some or several of these areas is preferred:
• Strong experience with programming in higher level languages such as C/C++ and Matlab.
• Strong experience with Linux.
• Experience with electronic warfare and Infrared Countermeasure principles.
• Develop applications and scripts used for data mining signature databases.
• Integration of System Models (e.g
Simulink, Executables, Scripts) into a comprehensive digital simulation of the system under development.
• Analyze IRCM system/subsystem components to determine performance and performance optimization options based on analysis findings
o Main Effects Analysis o Signal Characterization
o Algorithm SW Debugging (i.e
Causality Identification)
• Familiarity with distributing computing HW/SW management in Linux is a plus.
• Familiarity with developing and implementing algorithms in AMD (Xilinx) FPGAs is a plus.

Existing DOD Secret Clearance preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year depending on experience.
