Position Summary:

The Spine & Joint Nurse Coordinator has a primary responsibility for the spine and joint registries, accreditation and data analytics for the program. Monitors program key performance metrics and accreditation requirements. In coordination with the program administrator, medical director, and nurse navigators, monitors quality standards of care, professional documentation, oversight and development of policies and procedures, and program certification. Uses data analytics to promote shared decision making and drives progress and performance improvement. Develops performance improvement initiatives and acts as a resource and facilitates collaboration between all health care disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community. Promotes ongoing development of all staff and for maintaining a professional environment in which all staff can grow and develop.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

+ Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)

+ Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or ability to obtain within two (2) years of employment

+ American Heart Association BLS

+ Experience with DNV-GL accreditation

+ Proven experience with data analytics

Preferred

+ Master's Degree in a healthcare related field

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

+ Assists leaders with broad operations to ensure the provision of comprehensive program services are in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.

+ Assists leaders to ensure a collaborative approach to planning, care design and development of policies and procedures, which reflect the mission of the organization.

+ Continuously assesses, measures and improves program performance through data analytics and report writing.

+ Drives program performance improvement tactics and trainings for team members.

+ Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates organizational behavioral standards

+ Strong leadership managerial skills; ability to plan, delegate, monitor and improve work performance

+ Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

+ Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment

+ Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

+ Creativity, problem analysis and decision making

+ Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

+ Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

+ Standard office equipment and computer applications; MS Office - specifically Microsoft Excel, electronic medical records and associated reports, internet applications to manage data and associated dashboards.

+ Ability to work varied shifts as the program requires to reach all staff for trainings

Physical Requirements

+ Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Support 50 pounds of weight (patient, assist with bedside needs, etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)

+ Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.

+ Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

+ On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.

+ Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.

+ Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.

+ Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

Exposures

Tasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to:

+ Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.

+ Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed

+ Various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.

+ Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses

+ Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
