Overview

The Fall Engineering Co-op Program is a paid co-op experience located in Bloomington, Indiana. We offer a 16 -week rotation with assignments in Manufacturing Engineering . This position includes a housing stipend, 401(k), fitness center access, learning events, capstone presentation, and more. All C o - o p positions are assigned a direct mentor and each position provide s real-world experience with meaningful projects in the medical device manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

- Engineering CO-OPs may be involved in projects in the following areas: Equipment Application; Device Development; Manufacturing Support; New Technology Support and Development/ Process Control; Process Validation; Product Development; Quality Engineering; Project Engineering; Systems Support: Research and Technical Writing- Produce engineering deliverables/documents; Provide analysis of recommended solutions to any obstacles or problems during production- CO-OPs are assigned a direct mentor who provides a unique perspective of life at Cook. Mentors are chosen from Engineers and all mentors are responsible for guidance for their CO-OPs- Adhere to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements- Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth

Qualifications

- Engineering C o -O ps may be involved in projects in the following areas: Process Validation ; Test Method Validation ; Sustaining ; Production ; Continuous Improvement ; Process Technology ; Manufacturing Transfer ; Supplier ; Engineering Test Lab; Research and Development; Quality Engineering

- Utilize engineering knowledge to p roduce project deliverables / documents

- Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements

- Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth

- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization

- Must strictly adhere to safety requirements

- Maintain regular and punctual attendance

- Must maintain company quality and quantity standards

- Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision

- Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Minimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements / Qualifications :

- College or University Junior or Senior preferred working towards a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Graduate students also considered)

- Minimum GPA of 3.0

- M ust provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university

Physical Requirements:

- On-site and hybrid positions that work under general office environmental conditions

- Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.

- Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat and gloves may be required in some areas associated with this position

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA.
