JOB INFORMATION

The Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe administration of products along with professional nursing care for patients in the clinic setting.


JOB SUMMARY

The Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse will work to provide a positive, safe, and professional care experience for all patients. The nurse is responsible for the quality and accuracy of services provided and performs all tasks with the utmost care. Thoroughly review patient orders, medications, and health information and administer parenteral medications in accordance with treatment plan. The nurse will assess and monitor patients’ health status and must be able to detect changes in symptoms or health status, know additional interventions is necessary and consult local Medical Director, referring Physician (MD) or Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Local Clinical NP or PA Director. Must thoroughly and accurately document all activities in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The nurse will report to the Clinic Director.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

The Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse does not hold any direct supervisory roles.


ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Infusion Clinic Nurse, but are not limited to:

Ø Provides friendly and professional service in person, over the phone and through written communications.

Ø Demonstrates empathy and understanding to establish rapport with patients and caregivers of all ages.

Ø Initiates and maintains IV access for infusions.

Ø Safely and accurately administers medications, without error, including oral, IM, SQ, and IV products.

Ø Performs ongoing patient assessments and notifies the supervising clinician of all abnormal findings.

Ø Uses Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to thoroughly input information, orders, schedule appts and document all patient care activities.

Ø Accurately performs necessary nursing responsibilities including, but not limited to initiating and maintaining IV access for infusions, weighing patients, performing vital signs, phlebotomy procedures, administering oxygen.

Ø Demonstrates appropriate storage and handling of drug products as well as human specimens.

Ø Educates patients regarding symptom/side effect management during therapy and within the scope of practice.

Ø Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.

Ø Demonstrates an organized and efficient prioritization of workload and responsibilities.

Ø Maintains a current knowledge of all equipment utilized and performs and/or oversees routine maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance of all equipment.

Ø Assist with scheduling patients, collecting, and posting payment.

Ø Ordering supplies and product inventory

Ø Maintains professional conduct at all times

Ø Actively participates with organizational quality and performance improvement efforts.

Ø Demonstrates a commitment toward exhibiting Reliant Specialty Infusions core values/mission and advancing RSI strategic goals.

Ø Performs all other duties as required and assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Ø Registered Nursing Degree, BSN Preferred

Ø Current state license, required.

Ø At least three years of clinical experience that includes training in infusion therapy.

Ø Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI), optional

Ø Proficient with EHR platforms, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

Ø Must be a team player, provide exceptional patient care and excellent customer service.
