Job Summary:

As the Infection Control Nurse at Civita Care Center at Cheshire, you will oversee and implement infection prevention and control practices within our facility. This critical role involves developing and maintaining comprehensive infection control protocols, conducting staff education, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with the nursing team and other departments to safeguard the health and safety of our residents and staff.

Team and Facility Description:

As an Infection Control Nurse, you will be integral to our mission of providing a safe and supportive environment for our residents. Responsibilities:

  • Infection Prevention and Control: Develop, implement, and oversee the facility's infection control program. Ensure best practices are followed to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.
  • Staff Education and Training: Conduct staff training on infection control protocols and practices. Provide regular updates based on the latest healthcare guidelines.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor the facility's adherence to infection control standards and regulatory requirements. Work closely with the nursing team and other departments to ensure full compliance.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report infection data. Recommend changes or improvements to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Policy Development: Update and maintain infection control policies and procedures to reflect the latest industry standards. Ensure all staff are informed of changes promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must possess a current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Experience: Experience in infection prevention and control within a healthcare facility is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills; proficiency in infection control best practices.
  • Certifications: Certification in infection prevention and control is advantageous.
