Job Description:
We seek a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Richard M. Seldes, MD. This part-time position will provide first-assist services during orthopedic surgeries, including arthroscopies and total joint replacements (shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, and ankle) in hospital and surgical center settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in orthopedic surgery, excellent surgical assisting skills, and a commitment to providing the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform office visits and consultations.
- Serve as a surgical first assistant in various orthopedic procedures.
- Collaborate with the orthopedic surgeon and other team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program.
- National certification as an NP (ANCC or AANP) or a PA (NCCPA). A Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Orthopedics is highly desirable for PAs.
- Proven experience as a surgical first assistant, preferably in orthopedic surgery involving arthroscopies and joint replacements.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures as it pertains to orthopedic surgery.
Additional Requirements:
- Must provide coverage at various locations within Hackensack, NJ, and surrounding areas.
- Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work varied hours. No weekend or night on-call.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to all professional and ethical standards.
