Overview

The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition the hospital's network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The incumbent is an entry level Respiratory Therapist who can perform all therapies provided by the Respiratory Care Department throughout most of the hospital with minimal to moderate assistance with the exception of NICU.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Six (6) months working clinical experience as a student RCP
* Associates Degree from an advanced level education program with current California State provisional license

* Must be able to clearly communicate in English and possess critical thinking skills

* CA license

* BLS, ACLS, PALs Certification (Must be through the American Heart Association)
* RG RRT must be obtained within 6 months of hire into the position

* NPS credentialing must be completed within 2 years of hire

* EEG Competency within 1 year

Preferred Qualifications:

* One year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital preferred

* Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (RRT-NPS) certification preferred
