The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time Cytopathology faculty position. The incoming faculty member will enjoy the opportunity to work at a highly ranked academic center, teaching, and medical education with protected time to pursue scholarship and academic interests.

UCSF is seeking to add an additional faculty member to its internationally recognized team. The incoming faculty member will have expertise and experience in Cytopathology. Qualifications include Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Cytopathology. Fellowship training in surgical pathology or a surgical pathology subspecialty is preferred. This academic appointment will be at the rank of Health Sciences Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series. The incumbents will participate in departmental teaching activities for medical students, house staff, and fellows, interdepartmental conferences, clinical efforts, as well as scholarship and collaborative research.

  • Led by internationally recognized subspecialists equipped with the latest technologies, participate in diverse research programs and interface with a wealth of basic and translational research programs, including those at the Comprehensive Cancer Center
Qualifications
  • Qualified candidates must be board-certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
  • Applicants with fellowship training within anatomic pathology with diagnostic expertise in Cytopathology or have its equivalent in clinical experience at the time of appointment will be given priority.
  • Precedence will be given to applicants who have completed a cytopathology fellowship with eligibility or certification in cytopathology.
  • The ideal candidates should have demonstrated interest/success in scholarly activities in cytopathology.
  • The desirable candidate will also have outstanding diagnostic and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
