Job Overview:

RWJ Barnabas Health is looking to add a qualified per diem Clinical Endoscopy Technician (CET) in Somerville, NJ. The Clinical Endoscopy Technician (CET) is a caregiver who assists the Endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures and assists in the preparation of the suite between cases.

Qualifications:

Required:

* BLS certified for American Hear Association (AHA)
* Weeknight/Weekend Call per unit requirements

Preferred:

* 1 year of Endoscopy or sterile processing experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

* BLS certified for American Hear Association (AHA)

Scheduling Requirements:

* Day Shift (Weeknight/Weekend)
* Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

* The CET works under the direct supervision of the Endoscopy physician and/or Registered Nurse.
* Applies clinical knowledge and technical skills to assist during Endoscopy procedures under the direction of the physician or RN
* Reviews planned cases and ensures all necessary equipment and devices are available on the unit.
* Sets up required equipment in anticipation of cases
* Assists with room turnover, breaking down room and cleaning endoscopy equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines and manufacturer instructions for use
* Oversees the care, handling and maintenance of endoscopy equipment
* Troubleshoots basic technical problems with equipment and initiates repairs as needed.
* Maintains knowledge of current manufacturer's guidelines.
* Responsible in transporting patients to and from the floor, and assisting RN in discharging patients to home.
