Summary You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the NAVSTA of NAVSTA
Duties
• You will advise on electrical and electronics maintenance and repair matters, such as applying knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices to determine the best remedy for difficult and complex problems.
• You will support multiple United States Navy, Coast Guard, and Military Sealift Command activities concerning the Magnetic and Acoustic Signature Control for Mine Warfare.
• You will serve on the MSF's Technical Integrated process Team and production meetings to discuss and resolve magnetic silencing signature issues.
• You will participate in scientific and engineering conferences covering degaussing shipboard installations and magnetic silencing support systems.
• You will contribute in shipboard technical support, degaussing system verification checks, calibration, and training.
• You will maintain electromagnetic signature control systems and their ancillary equipment.
• You will support magnetic treatment evolutions to include solenoid construction and testing.
• You will coordinate, acquire, analyze, and disseminate magnetic signature information to the Fleet and MSF ISEA

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications For the GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Performs research, analysis, test and recommendations on new technology at Deperming Station's control and measurement systems and Degaussing Range; (2) Develops, operates, maintains and upgrades required of a one-of-a-kind system; (3) Monitors and researches technological advances in hardware and software ensuring compatibility of existing systems within the magnetic Silencing Division; (4) Provides direct support to Fleet Units regarding unusual problems with shipboard degaussing systems
