THE POSITION
A new and exciting career awaits you Norristown State Hospital is actively seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to be a part of our nursing team. This is your opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of the consumers in our facility
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
You will provide care and treatment to individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or developmental disability or the care of individuals having difficulty meeting their daily living activities at a mental health facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment; 80 hours biweekly.
+ The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
+ Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) with 30-minute lunch.
+ May change based on operational needs.
+ Rotating off days, every other weekend off and Holidays as assigned
+ Overtime: As needed
+ Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:
+ This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania.
+ All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
+ PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.
+ If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
+ A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and a drug screening test.
+ This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
+ Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
