GVI, Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an In-Service Engineering Agent to join our Team in the New London/Groton, CT area
Qualified candidates will be expected to:
• Maintain knowledge and experience in overseeing the development, integration, test, evaluation and certification of existing and new submarine FBW SCS designs.
• Provide support to the tech assist teams in troubleshooting and repair of FBW SCS.
• Maintain qualifications as Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) supporting FBW SCS upgrades/alterations.
• Coordinate with Shipbuilders, Lead Design Yards, and Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) engineers/technicians to support new construction, overhaul, maintenance, test and repair of submarine FBW SCS.
• Maintain knowledge in hardware and software test and inspection methods and requirement verification, validation and quality assurance methods.
• Ensure fleet problem reports against these systems are acted upon and solutions proposed in a timely manner.
• Participate in fly-by-wire process development and execution
Participate in modernization teams, as necessary, to coordinate and develop the appropriate system upgrades and ensure other interfacing systems maintain compliance with existing interface specification and coordinate proposed interface changes
Position Requirements:
• US Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance; candidates currently possessing an Active Secret Clearance (or higher) are preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Submarine Development and Construction.
• Knowledge of function operation of Submarine Ship Control Systems and forward electronics.
• Knowledge of principles and techniques of Test and Evaluation Program Management.
• Ability to monitor and coordinate work efforts of a large group of Navy and contractor engineers/technicians, develops project tasking and funding profiles, long term implementation plans and schedules.
• Ability to use complex interactive computer-based systems.
• Ability to provide In-Service Support of Submarine Ship Control Systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of US Navy Logistical Support System.
• Knowledge in program management of complex software intensive systems involving contractor developed and government furnished software products
• Ability to interact and communicate with Navy and Design Yard/Shipbuilder Technical and Program Management principals and provide in-depth assessment of the development of complex submarine control systems.
• Previous experience as US Navy submariner preferred
