Job Description:

The Graduate Student Employee can be assigned a variety of work tasks, such as scheduling events, training new student assistants, as well as other tasks below. They will need strong organization skills in this very fast paced office. They will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

Job Functions:

* Assist in training new Student Assistants
* Good communication skills
* Good organizational skills
* Customer service skills
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced office environment
* Self-motivated and able to follow directions

Learning Outcomes:

* Learning to work/communicate with the public
* Written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to train, lead and manage other Student Assistants

Required Hard/Specialized skills:

* Facilities Manager will train GSE on Astra scheduling software data entry for large events within the Business school
* Facilities Manager will train GSE on CBORD reservation system database
* Proficient with Microsoft Office

Required Soft Skills:

* Effective communication skills, both oral and written
* Independently respond to event and facility related emails as necessary
* Assist in coordinating events independently with limited supervision
* Strong attention to detail
* Time management skills
* Occasionally move tables/chairs on an as needed basis
* Perform facility duties and responsibilities for assigned area of responsibility
* Assist with maintenance and cleaning as needed
* Participate with various projects, activities and tasks related to facility services
* Adhere to and ensure safety procedures and precautions are followed
* Ability to comply with university policies
* Maintain regular and punctual attendance
* Other duties as assigned
