Job Title: Clinical Research Manager

Job Summary:

The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for supervising a team of clinical coordinators at the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome, including managing their day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, training and mentoring, and prioritizing the team's duties in alignment with Crnic Institute research goals. The Clinical Research Manager is also responsible for oversight of the Crnic Institute's flagship cohort study, the Human Trisome Project, and the multiple research collaborations and initiatives stemming from it. The Clinical Research Manager works under the direction of the Clinical and Translational Science Program Director and in close coordination with the with the Clinical Trials Program Manager and other administrative and support staff the at the Crnic Institute to oversee and execute a variety of clinical research studies according to established timelines and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

* Participate in tactical and strategic program/project development and planning.
* Participate in program/project budget development processes, including grant writing and submission processes, and regularly reviews to ensure alignment.
* Lead and participate in program/project start up and close out functions.
* Supervise a team of 3 full-time clinical research coordinators, including performance review and management, coaching and mentoring, interviewing, and hiring.
* Manage and direct communications and reporting between teams, including co-investigators, analysts, and study staff.
* Develop and implement research recruitment programs to promote diversity and inclusion in study participants in collaboration with the Communications Senior Professional.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. (80% onsite, 20% remote).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in any field.
* A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

* Five (5) years clinical research or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Advanced degree in science or health related field (e.g., MS, MPH).
* Five (5) or more years clinical research experience working with vulnerable populations, including children and participants with intellectual/developmental disability.
* Prior supervisory or management experience in a clinical research setting.
* Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems).
* Experience administering cognitive and neuro-psych assessments.
* Experience with University of Colorado and Children's Hospital Colorado research management tools (e.g., OnCore, InfoEd).
* Bilingual (preferably Spanish speaking).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Ability to set goals, motivate team members to achieve results.
* Knowledge of supervisory techniques, management principles, and organizational leadership.
* Expert knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
* Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
* Outstanding customer service skills.
* Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
* Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
* Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
* Comfortable working with individuals with disabilities and their families.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $70,211 - $89,309.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
