ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: A rotating shift, Monday-Sunday. This position works a 24-hour shift with 48 hours off. This is a critical position with 24-hour on-call emergency status.

Responsibilities:

Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF Operations): Responds to declared emergencies by aircraft inbound/outbound to the Airport, and in close proximity to the Airport; conducts Fire Safety inspections of tenants, responds to fire alarm activations in the terminal. Emergency Medical Care: Obtains/maintains Texas Department of Health certification as an EMT Basis; first responder to all emergency medical calls on Airport premises. Law Enforcement Activity: Actively patrols and directs patrols (on foot and/or in a vehicle), concentrating on areas controlled by FAA regulation (i.e. security checkpoint, ramps, gates, etc.) Enforces local, state and applicable Federal laws and ordinances. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from High school or GED. Must have one of the following certifications: TCOLE or TCFP with EMT certification at time of application and time of hire. Must have a valid Class C Drivers License within one (1) year of hire. Must be at least 21 years old at time of application. Preference with be given to applicants who have all certifications at time of applying.

All applicants must successfully complete every stage of the application process in order to be considered for the position of Airport Public Safety Officer I. Stages of the application process are as follows:

1) Must submit a complete and accurate application for employment;

2) Must pass a Physical Agility Test consisting of: 300-meter run in 1 minute, 24.2 seconds (all ages, both male and female); Push-ups within one (1) minute; (Ages 20-29) 18 male - 12 female; (Ages 30-39) 13 male - 8 female; (Ages 40-49) 9 male - 2 female; (Ages 50-59) 6 male - 1 female; Sit-ups within one (1) minute: (Ages 20-29) 30 male - 21 female; (Ages 30-39) 26 male - 15 female; (Ages 40-49) 22 male - 10 female; (Ages 50-59) 6 male - 6 female; 1.5 mile run to be completed as follows: (Ages 20-29) 15 min. 10 sec. male - 17 min. 21 sec. female; (Ages 30-39) 15 min. 52 sec. male - 18 min. 0 sec. female; (Ages 40-49) 16 min. 28 sec. male - 18 min. 31 sec. female; (Ages 50-59) 17 min. 29 sec. male - 19 min. 30 sec. female;

3) Must pass a complete background check including, but not limited to: criminal history, residence history, employment history and credit check;

4) Must pass an online preliminary psych evaluation;

5) Must pass a psychological examination;

6) Must participate in a panel interview;

7) Must pass a physical and drug-screen.
