Job Overview-

Robert Wood Johnson is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Cancer Center,This is a full-time opportunity to join a dynamic team at the state s only NCI designated Cancer Center,The ideal candidate is a self-motivated learner and able to collaborate with medical and nursing colleagues.This is a ambulatory position.

Qualifications:

Required:

* Must have oncology experience.
* Master s degree in Nursing required.
* Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
* CPR certification.
* NP Certification.
* Three to five years of work experience as a professional nurse.

Scheduling Requirements:

* Full time
* 40 hours

Essential Functions:

* Patient Management
* Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments; in order to identify existing or potential health problems,
* Initiates and implements an individualized nursing and medical plan of care in collaboration with members of interdisciplinary team,
* Initiates appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical and nursing actions in conjunction with physician,
* Provides follow-up care including acute and routine examinations,
* Assesses progress, identify problems, initiate preventive measures, recognize emergent problems, initiate proper care in collaboration with physician,
* Monitors and adjusts patients medication according to protocol or medical plan of care including adequate pain control,
* Implements nutritional therapies, as appropriate,
* Triages patient problem calls which requires medical attention,
* Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures,
* Recognizes normal and abnormal laboratory findings and the pathology involved,
* Documents information in patients charts following documentation standards established by RWJ and the Cancer Institute,
* Provides health education to the patient and family management of side effects, anticipatory teaching,
* Manages medical emergencies as indicated, and according to standing orders,
* Provides monitoring and continuity of care between health care settings,
* Provides patient and family counseling and reassurance in regard to psychological and or psychosocial issues,
* Initiates proper referrals to private or community agencies,
* Acts as a resource and teacher for other members of the health care team,
* Shares knowledge and expertise with staff,
* Collaborates with the Cancer Institute's nursing and medical staff at partner and affiliate sites to coordinate continuity of care,
* Evaluates the quality of care as well as the quality of life for patients through assessment of patient response and recommend interventions, as indicated,
* Supports the research mission by collaborating with the research nurse.
