This opportunity entails being responsible for the production and modification of rail signals/train control system design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. This position consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery.What You'll Do:Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.Responsible for the discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects.Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects.Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects. Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projectsPerforms other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, orMaster’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, orPhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experienceWhat We Prefer:10 years of relevant experiencePE preferred (CA, WA, CO) or ability to obtainAbility to work full time in the Los Angeles areaDesign experience including ATC train control systems layout design, ABS/Cab signal block design, microprocessor and relay- based signaling and interlockings, as well as highway crossing warning systemsExperienced in the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimationExperienced in rail signal system construction support including field verification, inspections, and testingExperience with rail signaling equipment including Coded Track Circuits, AF Track Circuits, Crossing Predictors, ElectrologIXS and MicroLok Interlocking ProcessorsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well in a multi-location team environmentDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Additional InformationClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total RewardsClick here to learn more about EOE including disability and vetVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.#CVV #TransitAndRail.Locations:Los Angeles, CA (Figueroa Street)..The approximate pay range for California is $112,206.31 - $199,434.29.
