Reports to Mammography Supervisor. Under general direction, operates radiological equipment to produce clinical diagnostic mammography films as prescribed by physicians and perform routine mammography procedures according to established protocols. Maintains daily QA as per ACR and FDA regulations. Must perform 240 mammography procedures annually. Performs daily QA tests and maintains daily logs for QA as required. Maintain safe environment throughout the department and exam room. Recognizes parents/caregivers fears. Explain that they cannot stay with patient during testing. Shields patients productive organs with lead shield when possible. Make appropriate provisions for Thermoregulation. Explains all test and procedures thoroughly to patient before exam is performed. Questions possibility of pregnancy. Allows for privacy needs. Maintains patient confidentiality. Considers mobility needs and provides appropriate transportation. Positions patients as comfortably as possible. Encourages family support. Employs skills and techniques to manage pain using the FLCC system. Graduation from an AMA Approved Radiologic Technology School. ARRT Mammography Registry preferred. One year experience and/or successful completion of cross training in mammography. Proficiency should be shown in all areas of mammography.# ARRT registered. BLS by AHA or ARC #
