POSITION SUMMARY
The Art Therapist enlists and explores client's ability to express themselves through art.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Facilitate art therapy groups for all clients
* Organize client art exhibits in-house and at the graduation/celebration ceremony
* Requisition and submit orders to the Coordinator of Therapeutic Recreation
* Maintains inventory of art supplies as well as order
* Coordinate with case manager to address issues through art therapy
* Coordinates the decorating of the facility for all holidays and other important events/dates
* Provide documentation in client's charts
* Provide monthly report to supervisor
* Assists in special projects as required
* Supports the goals, objectives and mission statement set forth by the Board of Directors
and the administration of the facility
* Attends all mandatory in-service programs including fire safety, infection control, clinical
HIV/AIDS manifestations, transmission, prevention, psychosocial issues, confidentiality
and client's rights
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree in Art Therapy, required
* Current license to practice as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in New York
State
* Prior experience relevant to the area of clinical practice preferred
* Minimum of two years' experience working with substance abuse, HIV/AIDS or related
special population

Salary Range: $44,850 - $51,675
