Position Summary:

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Kidney Transplant Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Kidney Transplant Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the care and support of patients undergoing kidney transplant procedures. You will collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care for patients throughout the transplant process, from evaluation to post-operative recovery.

Patient Assessment and Evaluation:

Conduct thorough assessments of patients referred for kidney transplantation, including medical history review, physical examinations, and laboratory tests.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine patients' suitability for transplantation and assess their readiness for surgery.

Pre-Transplant Education and Counseling:

Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families about the kidney transplant process, including risks, benefits, and post-operative care.

Offer emotional support and counseling to address patients' concerns and ensure informed decision-making regarding transplantation.

Transplant Coordination:

Coordinate transplant evaluations, testing, and consultations with various healthcare specialists to facilitate the transplant process efficiently.

Serve as a liaison between patients, transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.

Position Qualification:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.

Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
