Duties

As a part of the VISN CRH Team, the TelePain Section Chief will contribute significantly to the completion of projects and utilization of resources to support the mission and goals of the VISN CRH. This individual is responsible for providing TelePain specific education and consultation to CRH and VISN leadership, ensuring that CRH services are completed at the highest standard. This CRH TelePain Section Chief is required to exercise a high level of leadership and organizational skill, independent judgment, problem-solving ability, and content expertise in program development, implementation and evaluation. The position requires the ability communicate effectively with field staff and VISN, CRH, and VA Central Office (VACO) leadership on a variety of clinical and administrative strategic priorities. The position requires travel to provide training and consultation with VISN, CRH Spoke sites, and facility leadership.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Telework: Remote 100% Outside the Area (Remote work outside parent station. Employee works 100% of the time in non-VA-owned or leased space outside the local commuting area of parent station.)

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Podiatrist Basic Requirements

* United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
* Education: Degree of doctor of podiatric medicine, or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in podiatric medicine and surgery. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed.
* Licensure or Registration. Applicants must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
* Residency Training. Podiatrists must have completed residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. VA Podiatrists involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.
* Approved residencies are:(1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or
* (2) Other residencies and training experiences, or their equivalents, which the local Professional Standards Board determines to have provided an applicant with appropriate professional training.

Preferred Experience:

* Board Certification within specialty is preferred
* Three to five years of experience in writing standard operating procedures in outpatient or inpatient setting.
* Three to five years of direct experience in projects geared toward patient safety, efficiency, and customer service.
* Three to five years of experience as a Pain Management practitioner
* Exceptional customer service record and ability to resolve conflicts and disputes between employees or customers
* Experience in working with various teams or services for the common good of the patient.
