Responsibilities:

* Translate spanish-english/english-spanish in written messages, live meetings, voice recordings and documents into another language, with careful attention to providing proper context, meaning, tone and technical wording
* Precisely and accurately interpret critical medical advice and information given by the provider into equivalent terminology in the client's native language
* Convert dialogue and convey the intent of the original speaker, understanding that many idioms and slang terms do not translate exactly between languages
* Assists in translating medical text and translate client education information as specifically requested
* Collaborate with colleagues to compile helpful information, including terms and definitions, into an organized glossary for regular reference during the translation process
* Assist the program, employees, and clients with written and oral communication as needed
* Submit translations to management for review as needed
* Provide requested translation during in-person, telephonic, and video conference meetings
* Interact with clients and visitors to translate foreign language and facilitate communication in a range of different professional settings

Qualifications:

* Requires a High School Diploma, Associates Degree preferred
* Must be certified medical interpreter and have at least two years of experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illnesses
* Must have skills to establish supportive relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for their preferences for treatment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to initiate and follow through on tasks
* Demonstrated understanding of regulations as pertains to HIPAA, client privacy, confidentiality and disclosure of medical information
* Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals, staff and other service providers in multiple languages
* Ability to communicate across cultures in a variety of media. Demonstrates sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm

Hourly Rate: $26.00/ hour
