Experienced Operating Room nurse preferred. If no OR experience, RN, have to attend an orientation program, Periop 101 made up of didactic and hands-on education for approximately 6 months, ending with a must passing score on the AORN test. A 2yr commitment agreement to be signed when enrolled in the Periop 101 program.
Ability to work in a small community hospital and our ambulatory surgery center. Functioning independently as a circulating and scrub nurse. Preparing operating rooms for appropriate set-up of OR table, patient positioning, and arranging instruments and equipment as needed.
Assists pre- / post-op nursing by receiving and providing accurate patient hand-off; maintaining the Operating room for quality control and time-outs; following AORN standards. Accurately documenting in patient EMR for case and specimen information. Assisting Anesthesia and Surgeon with any anticipatory needs in the Operating Room.
Hours of work are 7am-5pm and 8am-6pm, plus on-call for weeknights and weekends.
