Job Title: Patient Registration Representative I

Location: 1225 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90017

Shift: 5x4 shift, 40 hours biweekly (Monday to Friday, 5:00 am - 9:00 am), no weekends

Position Summary:

Join our team at PIH Health as a Patient Registration Representative I and play a vital role in ensuring seamless access to healthcare services for our patients. In this position, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately registering and pre-registering both outpatient and inpatient accounts. Your role will involve calculating and securing patient liability, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles, all while maintaining a warm and welcoming environment for our patients, physicians, and hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register and pre-register outpatient and inpatient accounts with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Calculate and secure patient liability, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles, in a hospitable and efficient manner.
  
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Navigate multiple computer screens with ease, demonstrating proficiency in Word and Excel.
  
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA laws to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
  
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring the needs of our patients are met promptly and professionally.
  
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  
• Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges as they arise.
  

Qualifications:

• 
  
• One year of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility or medical office setting, with a strong background in customer service and computer skills.
  
• High school diploma or equivalent; continued education or certification preferred.
  
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures preferred.
  
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) is advantageous.
  
• Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel to off-site locations for outpatient services.
  
• Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PHGSH only).

• Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application. No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of employment.
