Description

Sandhill Counseling (a subsidiary of Nystrom & Associates, Ltd.) is hiring in it's O'Fallon/South County, MO clinic A Mental Health Therapist provides individual, couple, family, and/or group therapy in accordance with academic training, professional licensure requirements, ethical codes, and regulatory law and statutes. Clinical work refers to all duties that go along with a comprehensive treatment approach including: direct service, completion of clinical documentation, collaboration with ancillary treatment team members as needed, time for case consultation and clinical supervision.

Requirements

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide the number of agreed upon clinical hours
  • Represent the standards of your primary professional field and adherence to ethical standards
  • Fulfill the mission of SCC through action by maintaining the highest level of professionalism, kindness, empathy, engagement in clear and respectful communication, and teamwork
  • Maintain clinical records in keeping with practice policies and procedures (complete, accurate, timely - within 48 hours of session or less in crisis or high-risk situations and within 72 hours for non-crisis or high-risk situations)
  • Work collaboratively and communicating effectively and respectfully with staff colleagues, off-site treatment team providers, and referring professionals/sources
  • Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations (as needed in accordance with clinical needs and with the recommendation of at least twice per month)

Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's or doctorate degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling or equivalent
  • Current and valid professional license issued from State of Missouri in respective mental health clinical area (e.g. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, PLMFT, PLPC, LMSW)
  • Understanding and utilization of evidence-based behavioral health treatments
  • Ability to use the language and methodology of differential diagnosis and familiarity with the contributions of various diagnostic tests
  • Ability to effectively collaborative with other professional team members including, but not limited to, medical providers, school personnel, therapists outside of Sandhill Counseling and Consultation (SCC), and case managers
  • Ability and willingness to develop and cultivate his/her own caseload by representing SCC in the community and relating to referral sources
  • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate personal and professional relationships and boundaries both within and outside SCC
