Tropical Health Care is a family practice located in Port Isabel, TX, serving South Padre Island, Port Isabel, and Brownsville. Our dedicated team provides excellent, personalized care for ongoing well-care and treatment for injuries and illnesses. Our Primary Care Provider is Gail Heinz PA-C, supervised by Dustin Tauferner MD.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for Physician Assistance or Nurse Practices at Tropical Health Care. The primary responsibilities include providing patient care, conducting medical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and maintaining accurate patient records. You'll also need to comfortable with and have experience treating emergency situations from heart to trauma and minor surgery skills such as suture, lesion removal and foreign body removal etc. The role also involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals and providing patient education and support.
Qualifications
- Current PA or NP license
- Experience in family practice or primary care
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- ACLS and BLS certifications are preferred
