Tips: As an emergency room nurse we are the first stop for most families entering our facility. We lay eyes on the pt and do a detailed assessment. All interventions are done with us before they make their departure to either the floor, their home or another facility.


Responsibilities

-      Lead level one and level two trauma activations as both the recording RN or the bedside RN

-      Obtain venous access and lab work in timely manner

-      Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to physician in a timely manner

-      Monitor pt safety and comfort at all times

-      Maintain closed loop communication between families and providing staff

-      Demonstrate competency in clinical skills for assigned care

-      CPN : Certified Pediatric Nurse – Expires February 28, 2026

-      TNCC; Trauma Nursing Core Course – Expires August 2024

-      Basic Life Support – Expires – December 2025

-      PALs: Pediatric Advanced Life Support – Expires August 2025

-      ENPC: Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course – Expires November 2025

-      ACLS: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – Expires February 2024
