Summary You will serve as a LEAD POLICE OFFICER in the Force Protection Division of JEB LCFS SECURITY DETACHMENT
Duties
• You will conduct preliminary and non-criminal investigations in compliance with probable cause requirements.
• You will carry firearms or other weapons authorized for a specific jurisdiction.
• You will conduct investigations through record checks, interviews, surveillance, or other methods to ascertain any criminal activity.
• You will identify course of action to be taken in emergency situations

• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

You must submit DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms before appointment.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test
You will be subject to random testing.
• This is a Mission Essential position
You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968
You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm
You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
• Must successfully complete a DoD approved Police Training Academy or equivalent course, e.g
Navy Police Officer Academy; a federal or military police academy; or equivalent law enforcement training.
• Must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable), and OC refresher training
Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions;2) Identifying/Deploying specialized or advanced techniques, equipment, knowledge, and/or training pertaining to law enforcement and security;3) Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents; and 4) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations
