We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.We are seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer with expertise in compilers and semiconductor technology to join our team. As a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, AI Compiler Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing compilers for cutting-edge semiconductor products. You will work closely with hardware engineers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective execution of compiler-related tasks.This role is hybrid, based out of Austin, TX; Santa Clara, CA; or Toronto, ON.Responsibilities:Develop machine learning graph compilerParticipate in the co-design of Tenstorrent's hardware and software stackBenchmark, analyze, and optimize performance of key machine learning applications across Tenstorrent's hardware and software stackDevelop performance analysis and estimation infrastructure that feeds into Tenstorrent compilerDevelop high-performance run-time engineIntegrate the Tenstorrent software into leading machine learning frameworksWork closely with machine learning engineers to discover the hardware and software requirements of current and future machine learning applicationsExperience & Qualifications:Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Extensive experience (10+ years) in compiler development, with a focus on optimizing compilers for high-performance computing systems.Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, with experience in compiler toolchains and development frameworks.Solid understanding of computer architecture principles, particularly in the context of AI accelerators and heterogeneous computing systems.Proven track record of delivering production-quality compiler solutions and optimizing performance for complex workloads.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets.
