Position OverviewReinsurance in itself is unique. It’s a specialized segment of the industry that’s exciting and not bound by the same conservative restrictions of the direct market. RGA is proud to lead the reinsurance industry, but the company also is thinking beyond this segment. RGA is focused on leading the entire life and health insurance space.The Executive Director, GFS Finance will apply accounting expertise and broad business knowledge to lead the management reporting and financial analysis for the Global Financial Solutions division, including responsibility for the development of the annual financial plan in collaboration with other functional areas.ResponsibilitiesLeads the preparation of the quarterly financial results for the Global Financial Solutions division, including analysis of financial results based upon business and economic driversManages the development of the annual financial plan in collaboration with GFS leadership and partners across finance, actuarial, investment, and risk management functionsDevelops, implements, and refines management analytics and reporting for GFS, including identification of historical trends and drivers of business value with long-term strategySupports business partners with technical GAAP and regulatory accounting and reporting for new reinsurance transactions and acquisitionsManages associates including setting priorities, developing associates, and managing workloads; provides guidance to the GFS Finance team on areas of expertiseCoordinates with other functional areas to achieve efficient and effective accounting and reporting practices and procedures RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience12+ years accounting and financial analysis4+ years management experiencePreferred: Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent)Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services experienceSKILLS AND ABILITIES:Required:Highly advanced knowledge of accounting/finance theory and applicationExcellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey complex business terminology to a diverse audienceStrong business knowledge of financial services industry and broad economic conceptsExpert level Microsoft Office suiteAdvanced experience with data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence toolsAdvanced level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects, quickly adapt to new methods, and liaise with individuals across diverse functional disciplines Company OverviewReinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA) is one of the largest global providers of life reinsurance, with offices around the world.
