Corps Pianist

Position Summary: The Pianist/Musician position works in conjunction with the Corps officer to provide music which contributes to the musical portion of weekly worship services.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Accompany congregational singing for Sunday worship services and during the week as needed.
- Accompany soloists that participate in the worship services.
- Participate as a member of the Praise team to lead and accompany congregational singing in worship services.
- Practice with praise team or soloists as needed to prepare for worship services.
- Provide music throughout all aspects of the worship service, as needed.
- Provide musical instruction to individuals within the corps as scheduled with the individuals and the corps officer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Some college in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1+ years of experience playing within a church worship setting.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Solid keyboard ability and/or other instruments to play hymns as well as praise music.
- Ability to sight read music.
- Proficiency in choral and instrumental accompaniment.
- Ability to teach music, keyboard and/or instrumental instruction.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
- Willingness to learn new software as needed
- Knowledge and ability to use sound equipment
Certificates and Licenses:
- Complete Safe From Harm Trainer training, and keep current as needed
