Job Description:Reporting to the Interim Lead, BCB Institutional Advancement, the Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement works collaboratively with the Major Gifts and IA staff that build philanthropic support for the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BCB). The Assistant Director manages donor engagement in alignment with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to advance the philanthropic interests of BCB and our donors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prospect and Volunteer Management/Engagement (45%)Support face-to-face engagement of leadership gift officers with donors, including, but not limited to board meetings, campaign events, and other donor-related events;Compose leadership giving-related communications; Create and finalizes gift agreements in collaboration with major gifts officers; Strategize for prospect meetings by researching and preparing prospect briefs;Track the progress of gift proposals and prospect portfolio activities in Raiser’s Edge NXT;Coordinate and manage logistics related to the engagement of the Executive Director’s Advisory Council and Leadership Circle, as well as the complimentary ticket program at BCB.Event Management (10%)Collaborate with IA staff to manage the logistics of on- and off- campus events aimed at cultivating prospective and current donors. Logistics include but are not limited to maintaining the guest list, creating communications and invitations, tracking RSVPs, designing the event agenda/infrastructure, and staffing events as needed;Serve as project manager for the Spring Soirée, BCB’s annual fundraising event; andManage post-event data entry.Gift Opportunity Development and Proposals (25%)Develop and updates philanthropic gift opportunities;Partner with leadership gift officers to prepare and finalize gift proposals;Provide ideas, input, and support to initiatives, decisions, and communications with donor relations and leadership gift stewardship implications; andDisseminate information on philanthropic initiatives to the broader Advancement team and campus partners. Database Management and Reporting (15%)Enter and monitors donor contact activities in advancement systems and shares/collaborates with relevant partners; andPrepare and deliver workflow updates in leadership giving committee meetings.Other Projects As Assigned (5%)Knowledge and Skills Required:  Bachelor's degree required;3-5 years of experience, with nonprofit and higher education environment preferred;Demonstrated experience in fundraising environment with the ability to develop, execute, and manage strategic efforts with donors;Strong written and oral communication skills;Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment;Excellent interpersonal skills;Familiarity with office and information systems, such as Raiser's Edge;Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of various word processing, desktop publishing, database management, and spreadsheet systems;Ability to work successfully with Berklee trustees, senior administrators, faculty and college offices;Some familiarity with contemporary music, leading musical figures, and music technology preferred.This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” employment relationship.Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Equal Employment Opportunity at Berklee:  We support an inclusive workplace where everyone excels based on personal merit, qualifications, experience, ability, and job performance.  Berklee affirms that inequality is detrimental to our faculty, staff, students, and the communities we serve.
