JOB DESCRIPTION:

An Occupational Therapist helps patients with physical impairments develop, regain or maintain their ability to perform daily activities through varying skills and techniques or using adaptive equipment. STARTING SALARY: $64,350 - $72,150 *Depending on experience*

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
* Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
* Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and primary mental health and evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on patients.
* Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding the patient.
* Demonstrate ability to work with senior residents.
* Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

* A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American - Occupational Therapy Association).
* Current OT license in NYS - required
* Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients.
* Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
* Experience in long-term care - preferred
* Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
* Strong customer service skills and compassion
