Position Summary:

  • The Cook prepares food which is nutritious and appetizing in accordance with requirements of the Food Production Manager.
  • Responsible for preparing meals for patients on both regular and modified diets. Also, food items for the cafeteria.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all foods prepared and returned.
  • Ensuring Health standards are followed, along with strict safety standards under Johns Hopkins expectations

Experience:

  • HS diploma, or equivalent, required
  • Culinary training (graduate of a culinary or technical school) preferred
  • 1 year related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
  • Experience cooking in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly preferred
    • Or, experience cooking in an institutional setting

Hours/Other Information:

  • Full-time (40 hrs per week)
  • Evening shift: Sun - Thursday, 11:00am - 7:30pm
  • Weekend & holiday work required
