Job Description

Lactation Consultant- Women's Services- PT

Responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Advises physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor and/or manager. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

* Requires current certification as an International Board Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). License as a Registered Nurse preferred.
* 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
* Requires current AHA BLS
* NRP Verification preferred
