Job Description:

The Department of Mathematics is seeking applications to fill one non-tenure-track postdoctoral researcher position. The position will begin August of 2024.

Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral Researcher performs research in mathematics and computation of a nature and quality leading eventually to publication of papers in research journals and/or advanced level books; maintains expertise. The research postdoc will be in conjunction with a MURI collaborative research effort between Louisiana State University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Colorado, University of Chicago and University of Pennsylvania. The research is on to the theoretical analysis and computational modeling of Complexity, Nonlocality, and Uncertainty in Heterogeneous Solids. (R. Lipton LSU PI, lipton@lsu.edu).

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematical sciences or a closely related field. A.B.D. candidates will be considered as long as the degree is conferred by August 15, 2024.

Preferred Qualifications: Research excellence as well as commitment to graduate and undergraduate education; outstanding candidates will be considered.
