The Department of Nursing at St. Olaf College invites applications for a part-time, one-year position in the nursing care of children at the level of Adjunct Instructor or Assistant Professor, to begin September 1, 2024.

The successful candidate for this part-time position will teach the pediatric theoretical class-based portion of the curriculum as part of a 3-course sequence of medical-surgical nursing across the lifespan. The candidate will also lead pediatric clinical rotations in the Minneapolis area and, together with our simulation coordinator, lead pediatric simulations.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold at least a Master's Degree in Nursing and hold a current and unencumbered RN licensure within the state of MN or be able to obtain a MN license.

About the Department

Nursing is uniquely housed within a rigorous liberal arts college. In 2019, a new, state-of-the-art nursing suite was created with a six-bed skills laboratory and simulation center to meet the need for hands-on learning opportunities with high-acuity patients requiring evidence-based interventions. Nursing simulation scenarios provide "real-life" clinical experiences to focus on the whole patient emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion for all students and future patients. Additionally, to increase access, the nursing department implemented a holistic admission process moving beyond the traditional approach focused on GPA, an interview, and essay.
