Job Summary:

Oversees and facilitates patient flow through the ICU. Develops and coordinates assignments and delegates work to achieve desired results. Balances resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Acts as a resource to advance patient care outcomes. Takes a patient assignment when necessary. Facilitates safety huddles in the absence of the unit leader.

Reports to: Director, ICU

Direct reports: None

Minimum Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited school or college for specialty; baccalaureate degree preferred. AD graduates currently enrolled in BS program with commitment to obtain BS within 3 years of employment.
* Valid nursing license in RI.
* Valid BLS through the American Heart Association.
* Valid ACLS through American Heart Association
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a critical care setting.

* Advanced critical thinking skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills to ensure successful flow of the patient.
* Strong communication skills to assist colleagues in meeting and exceeding standards of care and to facilitate a dynamic and positive team spirit.
* National certification in Specialty recommended in 2-3 years.
