Director/Manager Financial Reporting

DescriptionPosition Overview:As the Director of Financial Reporting for our reputable financial services firm, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, particularly those set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled professionals and collaborating with various departments to accurately and efficiently report financial information. This position requires strong expertise in accounting, auditing, and SEC reporting, along with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.Key Responsibilities:SEC Reporting Compliance: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of all external financial reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required filings as per SEC regulations.Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements.Internal Reporting: Manage the internal financial reporting processes, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and executive teams.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of financial reporting professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.Auditing Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors to support the annual audit process and address any audit-related matters.Technical Accounting Guidance: Stay up-to-date with accounting standards and regulatory changes, and provide technical accounting expertise to address complex accounting issues.SOX Compliance: Oversee compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements related to financial reporting processes and internal controls.Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial reporting procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.Financial Analysis: Work closely with the finance and business units to analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial results, findings, and analysis to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders as needed.Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to financial reporting and implement measures to mitigate these risks.RequirementsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.Several years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, and SEC reporting within the financial services industry.Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, GAAP, and other accounting principles.Prior experience managing a team and leading financial reporting processes.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with tight deadlines.Proficiency in financial reporting software and MS Office Suite.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.The Director of Financial Reporting is a vital role in maintaining the integrity and transparency of the firm's financial reporting practices.
