The Maintenance Technician position is an advanced level position that requires support of all production equipment and production lines.

Essential Competencies:

1. Safety
2. Demonstrate a solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for the various areas of the plant. Including handling of equipment, & tools etc.
3. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
4. Demonstrate safe work habits by following all safety rules and general plant rules.
5. Wear Personal Protection Equipment: Cut resistant gloves, hard hats while in Production, or safety glasses and specific protective equipment-based tasks being done.
6. Successfully complete the mandatory E.A. Sween safety training.
7. Maintenance Line Technician:
8. Display an advanced ability to manage time and perform self-directed work.
9. Build documentation for in house designs and, or training purposes.
10. Perform programming on VFDs and possess the ability to troubleshoot PLC logic.
11. Provide training and assistance to Line Technicians on all production equipment, participate in active knowledge sharing.
12. Provide back up support for Production Support Technician including equipment set-up/teardown and change overs as necessary.
13. Ability to work with outside vendors to improve current processes or find future process improvements.
14. Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of mechanical processes and procedures while troubleshooting equipment:
15. Ability to use basic hand tools on the floor.
16. Identify mechanical issues and safely remedy.
17. Ability to perform mechanical repairs safely, efficiently, and effectively.
18. Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of electrical processes and procedures while troubleshooting equipment:
19. Using a meter to perform high level troubleshooting to component level.
20. Replace/Program electrical components and complete complex wiring.
21. Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of pneumatic processes and procedures while troubleshooting equipment.
22. Ability to read schematics and interpret circuits design and component functions within the circuit.
23. Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic components effectively.
24. Display basic ability to use shop equipment:
25. Mill
26. Lathe
27. Drill Press
28. Band saws
29. Welder
30. And hydraulic presses
31. Help to build the PM procedures for all production equipment. Complete Work Orders in CMMS for all work performed in a timely fashion.
32. Follow all aspects of the Maintenance Planning Process
33. Use and help validate PM Job Plans
34. Use Asset Essentials to create a Work Order
35. Follow all aspects of the Parts Process
36. Understand Storeroom Layout
37. Parts Checkout process and expectations
38. Using Asset Essentials (parts lookup, part requests etc.)
39. Use technology tools at a high level to communicate with fellow co-workers and cross functional teams to maintain open communication and line availability.
40. Must maintain good attendance, GMP and Safety records.
41. Quality
42. Understand SQF Level 3 (Food Safety & Quality).
43. Understand regulatory & customer requirements.
44. Understand HACCP plans.
45. Understand your responsibility in protecting the safety and quality of our food through proper GMPs.
46. Report any questionable product to the QA, Supervisor or QC.
47. Teamwork
48. Support and demonstrate the Spirit of E.A. Sween and inspire others to do the same.
49. Assist in providing a friendly, positive work environment. Show respect for all other co-workers. Get along with all co-workers.
50. Ability to accept work instructions & complete requests from co-workers.
51. Provide input and feedback on department updates, status, changes, etc.
52. Provide training for Line Technicians as needed.
53. Complete other duties as assigned.
54. Continuous Improvement
55. Understand general principles and goals of EAS Continuous Improvement/LEAN program.
56. Lead internal projects designed at reducing manual labor processes.
57. Take an active role in new equipment design/install projects.
58. Be willing to participate in any company mandated or recommended training to grow skills within given scope of the role.
59. Maintenance Line Technician:
60. Demonstrate the mastery of the following standard work processes:
61. Repair and maintain equipment using the industry standards and collaborating with other departments as needed.
62. Assist with the development and implementation of World Class Maintenance Principles
63. Work with other departments to ensure repairs are completed on timely basis.
64. Thoroughly & correctly complete all required documents for Production and the department.
65. PMs & Daily pre-operations tasks
66. Other documentation as required.

Required Qualifications:

1. Have good communication skills.
2. Be proficient at Microsoft Word, Google Drive and Outlook.
3. Ability to manage time and workload efficiently and independently.
4. Highly proficient at electrical troubleshooting and logic processes.
5. High level understanding of pneumatic components and circuit design.
6. Maintenance activities are conducted in a food safety certified environment so previous food experience is strongly preferred.
7. Must have used a CMMS or similar process in the past for all Work Orders.
8. Five years previous Maintenance Technician experience or two years’ maintenance experience and a completion of a technical degree/certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

1. >40% of shift spent in refrigerated production rooms under 50°F2.
2. Some overtime is expected in the role
3. Ability to safely lift >50Lbs.or greater on occasion.
