Peace Healthcare at Lions Center is a 101-bed skilled nursing facility located in Cumberland, Maryland. We’re known for our friendly customer service and the exceptional care we provide our residents. We offer 24/7 skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, subacute care and other senior care services. We are seeking both full and part-time employees to work 8- or 12-hour shifts and become part of our growing team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold a current Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification in Maryland.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.

JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with facility policies and procedures, the geriatric nursing assistant provides direct care to residents that is of high quality and under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Reports resident needs and concerns  to a licensed nurse and works collaboratively with the resident care team.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Be sensitive to residents' families and respond in an appropriate professional way as the situation requires.
  • Carry out assignments for resident care including (but not limited to):
    • bathing
    • dressing
    • grooming
    • shaving
    • feeding
    • restorative nursing procedures
    • retraining 
  • Keep residents' bed, dresser, bathroom, and general living area clean and tidy.
  • Answer call lights promptly.
