Job Summary

We are searching for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide comprehensive care for infants of all gestational ages with mild to critical illnesses or requiring sustained life support in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

* Shifts: 24-hour shifts

Responsibilities

* Utilizes advanced practice knowledge and skill to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data and to manage a caseload of patients
* Demonstrates effective communication skills and works to eliminate communication barriers
* Serves as an educational resource for the patient and family, community, and other health care professionals
* Applies new knowledge relevant to pediatric nursing to clinical practice
* Demonstrates current professional, managerial, and/or technical knowledge and skills
* Demonstrates nurse practitioner's role behaviors consistent with the development of advanced nursing practice
* Participates in departmental quality improvement program annually

Qualifications

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

* Master of Science in Nursing
* Current valid license as registered nurse in the state of Texas
* Current NNP-BC certification from the National Certification Corp (NCC) Board of Nurse Examiners
* Full authorization to practice by the Texas Board of Nursing
* Two (2) years experience in the applied specialty
* AHA/AAP hospital-based provider for Neonatal Resuscitation Program
* Delivery room resuscitation and stabilization experience required
