Information System Security Analyst

Salary - $122,000 Our client is currently seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Detection Analyst with a high level of technical expertise to join our team
This role involves actively monitoring and addressing cyber threats to our client's networks, playing a key part in a critical mission to develop, deliver, and manage network operations that incorporate new cybersecurity features to counter evolving threats
This role does involve working shifts, which may include nights and weekends
Key Duties: • Actively detect, respond to, mitigate, and report on cybersecurity threats in client networks using an advanced SEIM system
• Stay informed about current cybersecurity vulnerabilities and the strategies for defending against them
• Analyze and identify potential intrusions in computer networks in support of the client's objectives
• Coordinate with other government entities focused on cyber threat analysis
• Adhere to required Information Assurance training standards as set by the customer
Essential Qualifications: • U.S
Citizenship is mandatory
• Possession of an active/current Top-Secret clearance, with the potential to obtain a TS/SCI
• Eligibility for DHS suitability before employment commencement
• A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in roles like SOC/CIRT Analyst, Forensics Analyst, Penetration Tester, or Threat Hunt Analyst
• Proficiency in AWS security solutions and cloud security investigations
• Hands-on experience with incident response using Splunk
• Experience in penetration testing and security investigations
• Background as a Linux/Windows/Network administrator
• Ability to work collaboratively across various agencies and locations
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills: • Expertise in network surveillance and monitoring
• Deep understanding of network protocols, devices, various operating systems, and secure architecture
• Experience in computer forensic analysis and data recovery, as well as network forensics
• Proficiency in system log analysis
• Knowledge of cyber threats and associated infiltration tactics and strategies
• Direct experience in the detection, response, mitigation, and reporting of cyber threats in several areas such as network traffic analysis, system/application/security log analysis
• Familiarity with AWS security solutions and cloud security investigations
• Experience in roles such as SOC Detection Analyst, Threat Hunter, Forensic Examiner, or Incident Responder
• Exceptional technical writing skills, particularly in cybersecurity incident response
Desired Certifications: • Compliance with DoD 8570.1-M at IAT Level I (e.g., CISSP)
• Certifications like CCNP, CCSP, or similar
• ISSEP or ISSAP certifications are preferred
• SFCP or similar certification desired
• SANS GCIH or equivalent certification (Skill Level 1)
• SANS GCFA, GCFR, or equivalent certification (Skill Level 2)
• Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Administrator or higher
• AWS Certified Practitioner or higher
Educational Requirements: • A Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, security operations, computer science, or a related field, or a High School Diploma with 18 years of relevant experience.
